Inspiring a love of dance through contemporary and classic chamber masterpieces, New York Theatre Ballet (NYTB) has become the nation’s most widely seen ballet ensemble.
Founded in 1978 by Diana Byer, NYTB has earned critical acclaim for its reconstruction and revivals of classic ballet masterworks from innovative choreographers such as Frederick Ashton, Merce Cunningham, José Limón, Agnes de Mille, and Antony Tudor. The touring 14-member ballet troupe provides an intimate, live ballet experience for the entire family. The performance’s first hour will charm and humor audiences with comical step sisters and a clock that comes to lifein Cinderella. The second half will hypnotize with Soiree Musicale danced to a suite of Rossini melodies on piano, followed by the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet and ending the evening as Prince Charming awakens Princess Aurora with a kiss in Sleeping Beauty’s Wedding.
New York Theater Ballet will inspire you, mesmerize you and completely envelope you.
“ A clock that comes alive and dances. Furniture that moves magically about…This Cinderella will please grown-ups and children alike. ”
