“...never seen an audience rise to their feet as fast as they did for Steve..”
Nicholas Palmer, conductor Owensboro symphony
Paul Steve Lippia's "considerable vocal skills" (Wall Street Journal) have made Lippia one of the most prominent, in-demand vocalists in the country, establishing Lippia among the finest interpreters of "standards" and traditional pop music.
His youthful, energetic talent and powerful show creates a perfect blend of "classic" and "contemporary." His show introduces this timeless music to a new generation while appealing to long-time listeners.
Lippia, a second generation native of Southington, Connecticut, began his singing career at the tender age of three when he discovered that it was a great way to earn cupcakes from the neighbors. He attributes his gift of song to his mother, Sharon, who was a professional singer, performing with the Woody Herman Orchestra, before leaving the business to raise a family. In high school and college, Steve was drawn to the stage and performed in local music and drama productions.
After moving to Florida to establish his construction-related business, Lippia moonlighted as a band singer. Following his desire to grow as an artist, he gradually developed his own act; a hot, hip, swinging, high-energy, crowd-pleasing show that would allow him to showcase his own unique vocal styling. The Woody Herman Orchestra heard about Steve's ability to mesmerize audiences with his own distinct interpretation of everything from jazz standards to tunes off the contemporary charts and began featuring him in front of sold out audiences across the country.
“ He is there for the next two weeks, so stop what you're doing and head to the Hilton, because he's that good ”
-–Phil Roura, New York Daily News
Lippia has headlined in highly successful, extended engagements at the Rio Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, where "standing room only" audiences lined up more than two hours before show time to vie for seating.
He has performed in multiple engagements for Hilton Atlantic City and Casino Windsor, among others. He has performed to sold-out Symphony audiences across North America, including multiple engagements with the world famous Boston Pops with Keith Lockhart and Peter Nero and the Philly Pops.
Performances at other prestigious special events include: the JazzAspen Festival, a gala fundraiser honoring Mrs. Betty Ford, and other prestigious appearances, including events for the Walton Family, the Crown Family, Donald Trump, Michael Dell, Irwin Winkler and the late Aaron Spelling. Lippia has headlined to standing room only crowds at the legendary "Birdland Jazz Club" in New York City backed by the Nelson Riddle and Woody Herman Orchestras.
He performed in a highly successful European Jazz Festival Tour which resulted in a nationally televised special on Finnish TV2. Other television appearances include "Extra" (WBTVG), "Good Day New York" (Fox), "Showbiz Today" (CNN).
Lippia's acclaimed self-titled CD was recorded at Warner Brothers' Studios in Los Angeles with a 41-piece symphony. In addition, he has recorded two live CDs; "Steve Lippia Live" and Grammy-nominated "Steve Lippia in Concert,"
