The second half will feature music by pop royalty such as Queen, Carole King, Duke Ellington and Lorde, music from the Lion King, and songs by honorary royalty such as Elvis, Aretha and Michael Jackson. Join the fun designed for royalty and commoners alike!
Founded in the Fall of 1999, the Lakeside Singers are a unique ensemble of professional singers who perform the very best in vocal music in an extraordinary variety of styles. Their concerts are exciting, eclectic programs of classical masterpieces from around the world as well as vocal jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues and popular standards. Individually, group members have performed in TV and radio commercials, operas, early music ensembles, film scores, Broadway shows, and in jazz clubs, cruise ships, cabarets and classical and popular concerts across the country.
In addition to their concerts, in recent years they have appeared four times at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park and will appear a fifth time during the summer of 2014 performing “the Lord of the Rings” with Maestro Ludwig Wicki and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
At the core of what we do is the desire to offer audiences the opportunity to indulge their individual musical tastes and to acquire an appreciation of the beauty and value of great vocal music of any style.
“ ...bold, brassy and brilliant.”
