Ronald Romm, a performer who has appeared worldwide on the stages of most major concert venues, music festivals, and international music conferences, is widely acknowledged as one of the pre-eminent trumpeters and clinicians of today.
Steinway Artist, Avis Romm, is highly respected in the field of opera, having coached, directed, conducted and performed in hundreds of opera productions internationally. Much of her work is recorded for broadcast on television and radio. Ms. Romm has worked extensively with the Sarasota Opera Company and performs regularly with internationally renowned soloists. Ronald and his wife continue an active concert career as a spectacular Trumpet and Piano duo; however, they also perform and record as The Romm Trio with their son, Trumpeter Aaron Romm.
Avis and Ronald Romm met as students at The Juilliard School in New York City where they earned postgraduate degrees. Their combined experience over the last 30-plus years is something that staggers the imagination: They have performed in thousands of concerts worldwide for well over 100 million people. Ron is a former and founding member of the world famous Canadian Brass, and Steinway Piano Artist Avis’ expertise extends to Chamber Music, Opera, Orchestra, and Musical Theatre.
The Romms keep their audiences spellbound with their virtuosity. This unique duo’s ability to communicate from the stage goes far beyond the music itself. The synergy of the pairing of these two brilliant soloists dazzles their audience immediately. The duo of Trumpet and Piano is an unusual chamber music medium. Avis and Ron together have arranged and composed much of the repertoire that they perform. The audience is always keenly aware of the intense beauty of their impeccable playing. At the same time, their consummate abilities, their power, their precision in ensemble playing and their energy pull audiences to their feet for standing ovations everywhere the Romms appear.
“ They brought the house down with brilliance. They built it up again with refinement and sensitivity.”
